Website: www.thestar.com/thenetwork
The Toronto Star is a Canadian publishing icon. As part of its on-going mission to distribute news was born the campaign "The Network: A National Conversation about the CBC and Public Broadcasting."
OPPORTUNITY
To create a more engaging experience for online readers - a conversation.
RESULT
Created a suite of online tools to facilitate participation and feedback on all site content, and to generate increased awareness of the campaign via social networks Facebook and Twitter.
MY ROLE
In only 2-1/2 weeks, I co-created the user engagment strategy and single-handedly designed and developed the entire website experience: e.g. logo and site design, WordPress implementation (HTML 5, JQuery, AJAX, developed most of the plugins used), Facebook API integration, Twitter feed, User Rating system.
Are YOU engaging and connecting with your audience? Is it working? How do you know? Are you utilizing your website and social networks effectively? I can help.
Chevrolet USA on contract with MacLaren McCann
Website: www.chevy.com
True to its brand, chevy.com delivers an innovative online experience packed with useful, engaging content beautifully organized. As you might expect, considerable thought and resources are devoted to ensuring the ultimate user experience, across all mediums; Mission successful on this one.
MY ROLE
Working with a small team at MacLaren McCann (in Toronto) and armed with all the major tablet devices - iPad, Playbook, Galaxy - and a few phones, my role was to ensure chevy.com delivered an optimal mobile experience in addition to its desktop counterpart. This was purely a web development role - enhancing and fixing existing applications using JavaScript (jQuery, JSON), CSS3, HTML, and a little JSP and JSTL.
It was a great opportunity to explore the differences between mobile and desktop platforms - some subtle others significant - and how to deliver a single website, seamlessly across all major devices.
Are YOU delivering the optimal experience across devices and platforms? I can help.
